About The Committee

Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, located on Route 53 in Palmyra, Virginia, serves the faithful of Lake Monticello, Palmyra, and the surrounding areas. What began in the mid-1980s as a small gathering of Catholics seeking the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has, by the grace of God, grown into a vibrant and faithful parish community. In 1986, Bishop Sullivan formally established the parish and bestowed upon it the name Saints Peter and Paul, entrusting it to the intercession of these great Apostles. From these humble beginnings, the parish has continued to grow, striving always to be faithful to the mission of Christ through its liturgical life, educational programs, and works of charity. The Buildings and Grounds Committee exists as a ministry of stewardship, dedicated to the care, preservation, and improvement of the parish property entrusted to us. In a spirit of reverence for the house of God, we work to ensure that our church and its grounds remain worthy of the sacred mysteries celebrated within them. Through ongoing maintenance, repair, and development projects, we seek to provide a safe, welcoming, and fitting environment for worship, fellowship, and parish life. Our work is both practical and spiritual in nature. Whether maintaining the integrity of our buildings, improving the beauty of the grounds, or undertaking new projects for the good of the parish, we strive to carry out all things in faithful service to Christ and His Church. Guided by the example of our patron saints, we offer our labor as an act of devotion, contributing in our own way to the mission of the Church and the strengthening of this parish community for generations to come.

As of spring 2026 the Buildings and Grounds Committee is composed of ten dedicated members who generously offer their time and talents in service to the parish. Under the leadership of Charlie Nicholson and Michael Ryan, the committee works diligently to oversee the care, maintenance, and improvement of the parish buildings and grounds. The committee meets once each month at 7:00 PM in Room 123 of the parish hall. All parishioners who feel called to assist in this work of stewardship are warmly invited to consider joining. Additional members are always welcome, and the contribution of time, skill, and effort is greatly valued in supporting the ongoing needs of the parish. Please click the blue address text below for directions.
